Weight Watchers and Lose-a-Palooza: Fighting Hunger and Obesity

What are you doing tomorrow?

Our country and the world are dealing every day with two epidemics – hunger and obesity. For the third year in a row, Weight Watchers’ is participating in the Lose for Good campaign, a program that partners members, online subscribers and charitable organizations to help fight world hunger. From now until October 23rd as members lose weight, Weight Watchers will donate up to $1 million to two leading hunger fighting organizations – Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger. The more awareness, the more Weight Watchers will donate to their two partner charities.

It’s Called Lose-A-Palooza!

The event runs one day only – September 14th – and the goal is to drive as much social media awareness as possible for Lose For Good. Every time Lose For Good is mentioned using the methods listed below on 9/14, Weight Watchers will track the mention and donate a dollar – up to $60,000.

Can you help the cause?

· For every mention of “Lose For Good” made on September 14th through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, check-in via foursquare, or a “Lose-A-Palooza” Twibbon to your profile picture, Weight Watchers will donate $1 to Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger (I know! It’s that easy!)

· Spread the word and get more involved!  Friends get your friends to visit or Lose For Good to find out more and encourage others to get healthy and give back.  Let’s really make a difference!
