Featured O2O Member: Tamara Bowman

Tamara Bowman is a professional photographer at Tamara Camera Photography, a mama of two, a writer/blogger at Tamara (Like) Camera, and a nearly professional cookie taster. She has been known to be all four of those things at all hours of the day and night. She is a very proud contributor to the books, The Mother Of All Meltdowns, Stigma Fighters Anthology, and an upcoming HerStories Project. After two cross country moves, due to her intense Bi-Coastal Disorder, she lives with her husband, daughter and son in glorious western Massachusetts.

Favorite O2O Projects you’ve worked on:

I worked on the Firefly & REACH campaign and that made my kids incredibly happy because my son was just then old enough for his own toothbrush. They loved the cool dental products and I did too. I also adored the Curious World and the Net Nanny campaigns, because they instituted ways to help my family. You can’t beat that!

Favorite part of being an O2O Member:

There’s something so personal about the staff members – in their emails and other communications with us. They’re unique for sure, and I love how candid and positive they are about their campaigns.

Tell us how you came to be a blogger.

Oh boy – do we have ten minutes here? The name Tamara (Like) Camera came to me suddenly because my name is pronounced that way and I have spent a lot of my life telling people, “It’s Tamara.. like camera!” Since I’m a professional photographer, it seemed like a perfect double meaning name!

I studying writing in college, and did a photography apprenticeship right after college. I have only ever known a life of writing and photography, but I still tried my hand in the corporate world for a few years after graduation.

After I had my first child, my daughter, I started my blog because I was bursting to write and it was a great way to share our lives with all the grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends in our lives. After I had my second child, my son, I started my photography business because I believe it’s a gift to get to photograph people.

My two businesses go hand in hand. My blog started as 100% family-related, and then I branched out because I LOVE to talk about products, services, and lifestyles.

Name another blogger you admire and why.

Kelle Hampton – she weaves her stories with photos, and she weaves her photos with stories – and that has always been my style. She’s my inspiration.
