Featured O2O Member: Julie Clark

Featured-O2O-Member-JulieClarkTraining your kids to join the family business is a time honored tradition that has naturally found its way to blogging. We’re seeing more and more blogs that have become a family effort- from parents creating posts with their kids to spouses running the show on the back end. It’s the old family store meets new media marketing. We’ve recently had the great pleasure of working with one such family and we’re excited to share their story with you!

Julie, Maddie, and Kinslee live in Southwest Ohio and have always loved to spend time baking together. In 2013, they combined their passion for baking, writing and photography to become full-time bloggers. When they are not in the kitchen, they like to run, spend time outdoors and travel with their family.

Their mission is to revive the thrill of preparing and sharing comforting, heartfelt food with family and friends. Starting as a mother and daughter school project, Tastes of Lizzy T is now an international blog which shares their journey of a family that loves to cook, serve, and eat fresh, traditional, and wholesome food. Their desire is to partner with businesses and individuals that share the same family values and love for cooking.

Favorite O2O Projects you’ve worked on:

Working with National Pork Board, especially the #Porksgiving campaign since I got to share my grandma’s famous pork chop recipe.

Favorite part of being an O2O Member:

Community. I’ve been blogging for 2 1/2 years, but am still amazed at how much there is to learn daily. I’m thankful to the O2O community for encouragement and insight!

We’re known forour classic, home-style recipes such as bakery-style cookies, homemade rolls, and dinners such as roasts and chili. Food that brings the family around the dinner table!

10 years from nowOur blog is a family business. In 10 years, the kids will be grown. We would love to continue to expand the Tastes of Lizzy T business, giving our kids the chance to be included in the business opportunity. I feel like the options on how to grow are unending. Travel, cookbooks, videos…we’re open to learning everything!

My secret ambitionI have always loved the art of cooking and baking. It would be an honor to be trained and learn under a professional baker or chef. I love visiting restaurant and brand kitchens, learning about how they prepare food, including food styling and food photography. I never want to stop learning!

I’m most creativein the kitchen! I am constantly thinking of recipes and looking at old recipes books for inspiration. I often fall asleep at night dreaming up my next recipe!

I’m currently obsessedwith cookie decorating. We started decorating sugar cookies with royal icing last Christmas and have learned so much from the blogging community! It’s our fun “craft” that we do together and we always have a set of cookies going. We make everything from ballerinas, to pencils to teeth!

When I leave the house I always havemy phone. I don’t like the fact that I feel lost without it, but I do!

My favorite social network isInstagram. I feel this is the place I can be the most “real”. We share recipes, but also behind-the-scenes shots. This is where we share a peek into our family life!

I can’t do withoutcoffee. It doesn’t even have to be caffinated. I just love holding a cup of hot coffee. It’s a comfort thing!

My favorite way to spend a Friday night iscurled up with my family in front of a good movie. Don’t forget the savory pizza and freshly baked cookies!

If I could go anywhere for one day I would gosince I’m in the midst of a cold, Ohio winter, I’d choose anywhere there’s sunshine, a palm tree and a beach. There’s nothing more relaxing than sunshine on my shoulders and the sound of waves crashing against the sand.
