Featured O2O Member: Cat Davis

Featured-O2O-Member-Cat-DavisWe’re so excited to share this featured member interview with you! Cat Davis has been an O2O member for quite awhile, back when she was still living in Illinois and her blog was “3 Kids and us/Food Family Finds”. These days, Cat is living the beach life and we’re a bit envious of her daily doses of Vitamin Sea.

More about Cat:

Cat is the author of Mom by the Beach blog. When she’s not working full-time on her blog, she’s attending college to earn an Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and raising three children. Between all the duties of being a wife and mother, she enjoys baking, cooking, traveling and spending her downtime with her cats. While she was born and raised in Illinois, Cat is now living the beach life in the Charleston, SC area.

Favorite O2O Projects you’ve worked on:

My absolute favorite has been working with Calphalon products. As an avid cook, there’s nothing I love more than being able to share my love for products that I purchase myself and use every day.

Favorite part of being an O2O Member:

I love the variety of brands that are available to work with and how well organized the campaigns are.

Tell us how you came to be a blogger.

I started my first blog, 3 Kids and Us, in 2008 shortly after I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant with my 3rd child. I was searching for a way to connect with other mothers like me and share my journey as a mother. It was until much later that I found my true passion was blogging about cooking and baking. It was just a year ago when I took an extended break from blogging during our move from IL to SC and I felt like I needed a fresh start. That’s when I started from scratch with

Who is another blogger you admire and why?

I’ve known Trisha Haas, the blogger at for almost 8 years now and I can’t think of anyone I admire more than her. She’s built a community of bloggers that truly connect and support each other all while running a successful blog.

Is there a piece of advice, quote, or mantra that you live by?

“Don’t compete with anyone but yourself.” As a blogger I’ve learned that it’s far more healthy and amazing to surround yourself with bloggers that support you as much as you support them.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

I’m often complimented on my food photography. It’s something I’ve been working on for years and I’m always tickled pink when someone notices my improvements.

What was your last best meal?

The last best meal I cooked myself was a good old-fashioned chicken and dumplings dinner. The last best meal I didn’t have to cook was at a restaurant in Disney World … steak grilled to perfection, steamed green beans, a meal so delicious I probably couldn’t duplicate it at home.

Is there a song you can’t get enough of, listen to on repeat, know all the lyrics, obsessed with?

Secrets by Mary Lambert … not a well known song but one that describes my life and myself in ways I never could.

What is the best thing to do where you live?

As a new transplant to the Charleston, SC area, I’m still discovering all there is to enjoy but my personal favorite is visiting Azalea Park in Summerville. It’s a quiet and peaceful spot to visit. You rarely encounter people while strolling through the winding paths full of Azalea bushes in brilliant colors, ponds full of friendly turtles and more tree frogs than you could imagine.

Night owl or early bird?

The wee hours of the night are my favorite time. With 3 children, it’s the only chance I get to relax and read.

What is your favorite time of the year?

There’s nothing I love more than winter and fresh snow. Unfortunately, since moving to SC this past year, snow isn’t something you come by here. So I’ve learned to love Spring and all of the amazing thunderstorms that roll through.

Three things you can’t live without (besides family/friends/faith).

I certainly couldn’t live without all five of my cats (yep, I’m a crazy cat lady). My iPhone, it’s addicting. Cream with a splash of coffee!
