Featured Member Interview: Stacey H.

Today we’re catching up with Stacey of Stacey Says. Stacey has been extra busy these days because she gave birth to her third child, a sweet boy, in February! Congrats Stacey! Stacey is from Michigan, a self-proclaimed biology nerd, loves to watch Jeopardy! and confesses to be addicted to chocolate.

What do you like about working with brands?

I like when brands want to think outside of the box. When they allow me and encourage me to be creative and authentic with how I present their brand and products to my readers.

What is your vision for this year?

My personal vision for the year is to “be still”. With a newborn in the house now, and this most likely being our last baby, I want to soak up every moment of this year. I know how quickly babies grow and change day to day and I don’t want to miss a moment. This also translates over to my professional and blogging vision. Blogging and writing will always be there. As much as I love it, I don’t want my babies to take a back seat because of my writing.

How do you create community with your blog readers?

I love interacting with my readers and those whom I’ve connected with on various social media platforms. I love that they feel a part of my life and are genuinely concerned or excited when I write about stuff going on in my personal life. I equally love connecting with them and their family by keeping in contact with them social media and their blogs. My favorite part about connecting with readers is when one of those readers becomes an “in-real-life” friend!

Who have been your blogging mentors? Who do you look up to or draw inspiration from?

I admire Janice and Susan from 5 Minutes for Mom — they are dedicated to their blog, their readers, and their family and are amazingly candid about balancing it all. Amy Lupoid Bair from Resourceful Mommy is an wonderful wealth of knowledge. And Maggie Mason from Mighty Girl who does not compromise who she is for anything and is always thinking “outside the box”.
