Lisa is the blogger at Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy!, and as her blog name suggests, she’s the mother of three boys. She calls herself the queen of her house of full princes, living a suburban life in Illinois. Lisa is a proud One2One Network member and recently won a ticket to BlissDom ’13 when she applied for the O2O sponsorship package. Lisa has been blogging for several years, chronicling the life of her boys, reviewing products, and advocating for causes dear to her. We asked Lisa, “What is your favorite thing about being a blogger?”
It’s hard to pick just one thing for me because I think there are two amazing things, first is the opportunities it has given my family and I. We’ve hosted a private party on the 103rd floor of Willis Tower and attended the most amazing shows that we never would have without my blog. But the people I’ve met are now some of my closest friends too. Even though many live an hour (or much more) away they are always there when I need them.
I’m known for…my crazy schedule. People are constantly shaking their head at me and telling me they don’t know how I do it. But its almost all fun stuff, ‘cept that pesky full time job that keeps us all clothed and fed. But for the most part we are a very mobile family and love it!
I’m working on…improving my health. This year I’ve been working hard to lose weight and get myself healthier, for myself but also to be a better role model for my boys. So far I’m down 55pounds and feel a lot better but still have a long way to go.
10 years from now I…will be living on ramen noodles and crackers since I’ll (hopefully) have two kids in college.
I’m currently addicted to…Chocolate Chip Frappe’s from McDonald’s. My only relief might be that its getting too cold here in IL for them now!
I find joy…in watching my kids do something they love.
My secret ambition…is to be a travel writer who can travel to all the beautiful places I’ve always wanted to go to and call it work!
I can’t do without…my cell phone. What can I say, it holds all that makes my world go round (minus the people I love).
I’m most creative…when I’m with like minded individuals. I LOVE the ideas I get when I spend time with friends, ESPECIALLY blogger friends.
I admire…people who overcome life’s struggles with a positive attitude. Life IS hard but we can’t always control what happens to us, but we can control how we handle it. I don’t always do the best at this so I like to look up to those that seem to do it better!
When I grow up…I hope to be the cool mom and eventually the cool grandma. Not the one who thinks they’re cool, or tries way too hard. But the one that just stays current and is easy to talk to.
Do you sing in the shower? Once in a great while but I’m either usually in too big of a rush to have time to sing in there OR I’m taking a nice relaxing shower which means the kids are sleeping and I won’t risk waking them by singing.
Favorite line from a movie or tv show? “We Accept the Love We Think We Deserve” from The Perks of Being A Wallflower
If you could go anywhere for one day, where would you go? That’s a tough choice. My bucket list is mostly made up of locations I want to go. I think I’d have to flip a coin between Hawaii and Ireland (or maybe it’d just depend on the time of year and what the weather in each would be)
Morning person or nighttime person? I used to be 100% a nighttime person, like a 4am nighttime person but since I have had kids I’ve normalized some and while I’m still a nighttime person I’m usually in bed between 12-1am. (Up at 6)
Three words my friends would use to describe me are: These types of questions are always so hard I did what any good social media addict would do…I asked my friends on Facebook!! Since I got way more than three I tried to pull the three most common themes: Strong, passionate, and busy
